Innovations in Hip Preservation Surgery and Their Role in Preventing Hip Osteoarthritis

Eligibility

Inclusion Criteria:

The inclusion criterion for this study is the radiological proven diagnosis of CAM-type femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) in an adult (>18).

Exclusion Criteria:

The exclusion criteria for this study are patients with advanced arthritis and/or evidence of less than 2mm of joint space; 1cm^2 (or greater) of cartilage delamination in the hip; type III or IV heterotopic ossification; avascular necrosis; revision hip arthroscopy; pregnancy; presence of local or systemic infection; or cancer.

Description

This randomized, controlled trial study is comparing the quality of resection between patients with conventional surgical planning and the use of a 3D print in hip arthroscopy. The quality of resection (alpha angle) will be used to determine the primary outcome.
