Validation and Use of Clinical Gait Assessment in Symptomatic, Moderate to Severe Osteoarthritis Patients Referred for Arthroplasty
Eligibility
Inclusion Criteria:
- Primary diagnosis of moderate to severe osteoarthritis
- Referred for arthroplasty
- >18 years of age
Exclusion Criteria:
- Unable to provide consent
- Unable to walk 50 feet
- Unable to stand for a minimum of 15 minutes, without aid

Description
The primary objective of this project is to generate kinematic data using gait-monitoring devices, KneeKGTM and the Walkabout Portable Gait Monitor (Gaitbelt) in the moderate to severe osteoarthritis population referred for arthroplasty. The secondary objective is to use gait monitoring as the objective tool to follow participants during the course of their treatment to monitor disease progression and postoperative recovery.
Sample size= 200 knee, 100 hip
