Bridging Reconstruction of Massive Rotator Cuff Tears by Human Dermal Allograft Augmentation Compared to Superior Capsular Reconstruction
Eligibility
Inclusion Criteria:
The inclusion criterion for the study is a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) proven diagnosis of massive rotator cuff tear involving supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons in a competent adult over the age of 18.
Exclusion Criteria:
Exclusion criteria for the study are patients with irreparable subscapularis tears; a pre-operative Western Ontario Rotator Score (WORC) score < 30; shoulder instability; presence of OA; uncontrolled diabetes; pregnancy; cancer or other severe illnesses.

Description
The objective of this study is to compare the arthroscopic bridging reconstruction to superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) for massive rotator cuff tears. The Western Ontario Rotator Cuff (WORC) Index will be conducted at two-years post-op as the primary determinant of outcomes. Examining patients’ range of motion (ROM), strength, Disabilities of the Arm Shoulder and hand (DASH) questionnaire, safety, MRI healing, and CT outcomes will be used as secondary determinants of outcomes.
